The FBLG Math Night Carnival will take place tomorrow from 6 pm to 8 pm in the school cafeteria.

Guam – If your child loves math, take them to F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School where they will be holding a Math Night event tomorrow!

Sixth grade Math teacher Richard Velasco says the Family Math Night is a carnival-style event that promotes math awareness and parental involvement. Students will be able to visit the variety of math-themed booths where they can solve math problems and win a prize. Velasco says all the math teachers at FBLG come together to make this Math Night happen every year.

Velasco says, “I think at this point in their lives, it’s very integral to find this passion for math. I believe after this point, if they start to lose interest in math, it kind of goes a little bit downhill from there. I want to personally instill that in the students, wanting them to love math and try to use math in their lives. That is the purpose of this carnival is to show that math is applicable in real life as well and we can show everyone that math can be fun.”
