Guam police say a female was stabbed by a 16-year-old boy because she dared to call out a group he was with drinking alcohol.

According to Sgt. Paul Tapao, the Guam Police Department’s spokesman, the teenage boy attacked the female at an apartment complex on Adrian Sanchez Street in Harmon.

Officers from the Tumon/Tamuning Precinct Command responded to the assault, described by Tapao as a “stabbing incident” that occurred after the female confronted the group drinking alcohol within the apartment complex.

There was no word on how old the female victim was or what weapon was used in the assault.

The female sustained laceration wounds to her arms and facial area and was immediately transported to Guam Memorial Hospital for treatment and care.

The male minor was later taken into custody and GPD’s Juvenile Investigation Division was activated to assume the case.

The male minor was later charged for the following offenses: aggravated assault; use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony; and the consumption of alcohol under 21.

He was later confined to the Department of Youth Affairs in Mangilao.

The case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
