Fernandez: Guam DOE “Will Fully Cooperate” With DOA, Which Has Jurisdiction Over GFT’s “Unfair Labor Complaint”

Guam – The Guam Department of Education this afternoon released a statement in response to the GFT’s “Unfair Labor Practice” complaint.

In the statement, Guam DOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez is quoted as saying that “GDOE will fully cooperate with DOA as they have jurisdiction over the complaint.”

The “Unfair Labor Practice” was filed with the Guam Department of Administration which will arbitrate and rule on the issues.

GDOE TO COOPERATE WITH DOA ON ULP

Guam Department of Education (“GDOE”) Superintendent, Jon Fernandez has acknowledged the Unfair Labor Practice complaint filed by the Guam Federation of Teachers (“GFT”).

Superintendent Fernandez has also committed to providing the Department of Administration (“DOA”) with his full cooperation as they address the complaint. “I understand that the GFT has filed an Unfair Labor complaint with DOA,” said Fernandez. “GDOE will fully cooperate with DOA as they have jurisdiction over the complaint.”
