Guam- First Hawaiian Bank (FHB) has donated $25 thousand dollars to establish the John K. Lee Jr. Scholarship Fund at the Guam Community College (GCC).
This fund will provide annual scholarship awards for GCC students. Beginning Spring 2012, $3 thousand will be awarded annually to one full time GCC student based on academic achievement, community service involvement, extracurricular activities and financial need.
The scholarship is in memory of Lee, who passed away on October 5. He was the FHB President and Regional Manager of Guam and the CNMI and retired from the bank in 2006 after serving 48 years. He also devoted over 20 years on the GCC Foundation Board of Governors.
