Guam – The Hagatna Cathedral today [Tuesday] will welcome he International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima as the historic statue of Our Blessed Mother enters its final week on island.
The statue will arrive at the Cathedral-Basilica in Hagåtña 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Holy Rosary will be prayed followed by celebration of Mass at 6 p.m.
Vigil will take place at the main church 7-9 p.m. The statue will then be moved to the Chapel of St. Therese, which is part of the Cathedral-Basilica at 9 p.m. for overnight vigil.
The well-known symbol of Our Blessed Mother and her miraculous appearance to three children in Fatima, Portugal 93 years ago in 1913 will be at the Basilica’s St. Therese Chapel until noon the following day, Wed., Oct. 20.
On Guam since October, 1st, the Fatima statue will be at Our Lady Of The Waters Church, Mongmong 6:30 p.m. Wed. night, Oct. 20 and Santa Teresita Church, Mangilao 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21. Both parishes will hold all-night vigils with the statue. Visitors can come even in the late or early morning hours. The statue and its caretakers are scheduled to leave Guam Friday, Oct. 22.
