Fire at Green Guam Recycling

According to the Guam Fire Department, containers were being used as a residence as well as storage.

A number of shipping containers caught fire in Dededo Friday evening. The stench from the blaze was smelt across much of the north part of the island.

Guam fire spokesman Kevin Reilly report it happened at Green Guam Recycling which is located at 145 Kayen Carabao in Macheche Dededo.

The containers were being used as a residences, as well as storage, he said.

Initial call came into the e-911 center about a quarter past 6 p.m. Engines 3,10 and 4 responded and put the fire out.

Rescue 1, and Medic 4 also responded but there were no reported injuries.
