Fire Damages People’s Bazaar in Dededo


Guam – A fire broke out at Compadres Mall Thursday night, seriously damaging the People’s Bazaar in Dededo. GFD Spokeman Capt. Andy Arceo says fire, rescue and medic units from Barrigada, Tamuning and Dededo were called just after 10 pm.  The business was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.  Arceo says it took firefighters 30- to 35 minutes to gain control of the fire.

Neighboring First Hawaiian Bank filled with smoke, but Bank officials were able to air out the building and First Hawaiian bank is open for business today [Friday].

The fire is under investigation.  There were no injuries.
