First American Born Baby of 2014 Arrives on Guam


Guam – Amber Chrisha L. Caponpon arrived in the world at 4 minutes, 30 seconds past midnight. “Officially”, the first born baby on Guam in 2014, and the first American born of the new year.

Dr. Tom Shieh announced the birth, with permission from the family. He delivered the baby girl at the Sagua Managu Clinic in Tamuning.

Amber weighs in at 7 pounds 6 ounces and she measures 21 inches long.

Mother Amor Laxamana, father Christian M. Caponpon, and son Chris are all doing just fine.

Dr. Shieh says he subsequently went on to deliver 3 more babies in the first 4 hours of the new year.
