Friday was the first day of the Pfizer booster shot clinic at the UOG Fieldhouse and although all the slots were fully booked, the first day of the clinic ran generally smoothly.
According to Captain Mark Scott, public information officer of the Guam Guard, the numbers that showed up at the UOG Field House were manageable despite the initial expectation of long lines.
Scott said they were even able to accommodate walk-ins.
Although appointments were sold out, Captain Scott assured that the clinic had enough resources to serve everyone.
Furthermore, to protect participants while they wait for and receive their booster shots or Part 1 or 2 of their vaccine series, the clinic observed COVID-safe regulation. Members of the Guard were careful to maintain these practices, down to ensuring that chairs stay the recommended 6 feet from each other.
Captain Scott invites everyone who can get vaccinated and chooses to get vaccinated to visit the clinic.
