The first winners for the “Vax N’ Win” raffle draw were announced today.

In partnership with the Guam Visitors Bureau, the Office of the Governor launched its incentive program “Vax N’ Win” earlier this month.

In the effort to achieve Operation Liberate Guam’s mission, it aims to reach herd immunity by Liberation Day, targeting to get 80% of Guam’s adult population vaccinated.

The vaccination raffle draw was started to serve as an incentive for more people to have themselves vaccinated.

In order to participate, island residents must be fully vaccinated on Guam and currently live on island for a chance to win one of six cars, $10,000 cash, and other weekly prizes until Liberation Day.

According to Krystal Paco-San Agustin, the governor’s communications director, at the time of the raffle drawing, there was a total of 38,697 entries.

The top prizes are $10,000 in cash and a 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback worth $16,995.

Other prizes for adults, 18 years and older include a one-night stay at the Guam Reef Hotel valued at $150, a $100 PHR social membership card, and from DFS a Marc Tetro bag valued at $450.

Juan Muña from Chalan På’go won the 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback while Peter Paul San Nicolas Cepeda of Dededo won the $10,000 money prize

The winners were randomly selected in a computer-generated software that encrypts all user data for security.

Cepeda, the winner of the $10,000 prize, said he was surprised that he was selected and says winning meant a lot to him and his family.

He plans to save the money for a trip to Texas with his family.

The prizes will be paid for by several federal grants for outreach and incentive programs.

Sponsoring this week’s prizes are T Galleria by DFS, Vince Jewellers, PHR Keg Corporation, DKHS Guam Inc. Doing Business on Guam as Time and Style, Caronell, Guam Reef Hotel, Triple J Guam, Micronesia Mall Guam, and Talent Basket.

Individuals who have yet to receive a complete vaccination are encouraged to do so as they can only enter “Vax n’ Win” after receiving both doses of the vaccine.
