For the third time in just over a week, North Korea has again test-fired two missiles off its eastern coast.

According to the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD), the reported projectiles were launched into the Sea of Japan.

GHS/OCD, in conjunction with the Mariana Regional Fusion Center (MRFC), federal and military partners, is continuing to monitor the events surrounding the region including the reported missile launches.

According to Homeland Security Advisor Tim Aguon, there was no indication the reported tests posed an immediate threat to Guam or the Marianas.

“The launches out of North Korea are a testament to how important it is to keep plans and procedures up to date. Guam Homeland Security, along with our local, military and federal partners, will continue to monitor the events surrounding the incidents,” Aguon said.
