Former Governor Gutierrez Tells Supporters He’ll Run as Write-In Candidate for Public Auditor

Guam – Former Governor Carl Gutierrez told a group of more than 100 supporters during a rally at his home in Agana Heights Thursday night that he will run as a write-in candidate for the Office of Public Auditor in the September 1st Primary Election.

According to a source who attended the rally [and wished not to be named],  the former Governor publicly declared his willingness to run as a write in for the office, after the group urged him to do so.

A separate primary ballot has been issued for the primary race which lists the name of incumbent Doris Flores-Brooks, and that ballot does provide a space for a write-in candidate.

In recent days, the blogosphere has been rip with suggestions from supporters that Gutierrez has been considering a run for Public Auditor.
