France has added Guam to its blacklist of non-cooperative countries and territories in fiscal matters.
France released its updated list of “tax havens” Tuesday.
In addition to Guam, France added the following countries and territories to its blacklist: Anguilla, the Bahamas, Fiji, the American Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the Sultanate of Oman, Panama, American Samoa, Samoa, the Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu.
When a country is deemed to be a tax haven by the French administration, sums transferred from France to the blacklisted country are taxed differently.
France also imposes more restrictive reporting obligations.
