Francis Fileruw charged with rape

Francis Fileruw was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and aggravated assault.

What was supposed to be a beer run to the store ended with police arresting a man for rape.

Court documents state that the victim had just met Francis Fileruw earlier in the day and he and the victim had planned to go to the store to buy beer.

But instead of going to the store Fileruw went to an area along Route 4, Talafofo where he raped the victim. The victim told police that she had asked Fileruw if she could leave multiple times but said he began touching her, physically overcoming her, and forcibly raping her.

During the course of the assault, court documents state that the victim managed to escape the vehicle and she fled into the jungle. After hiding in the jungle, the victim says she thought she heard Fileruw’s vehicle leave. But when she decided to make a run for it, Fileruw came up from behind her and threw her to the ground.

It was then that the victim says she saw a vehicle and made a run for help. When police arrived, witnesses reported seeing a green Nissan Xterra fleeing the area and running a red light.

Fileruw was identified as the owner of the vehicle but denied having been in the Talafofo area. Police say a search of the vehicle revealed personal items belonging to the victim.

Fileruw was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct and aggravated assault. He was booked and confined.
