The FSM government’s public information office is warning its citizens against fraudulent Facebook postings encouraging people to avail of a federal funding opportunity.

Just recently, an anonymous individual posted on an unauthorized page pretending to be the president of the Federated States of Micronesia, David Panuelo.

In the message, the unknown individual said that the federal government has extended the grant awards for the nonexistent UN Democratic fund and is inviting the community to contact them for more information.

After hearing reports from the community, the FSM public information office issued a warning saying that this is a fraud, a scam, and that there is no such thing as a UN Democratic Fund and there is no such thing as free money.

The FSM government is also asking the FSM community to ignore and report the post to Facebook and to contact the FSM Public Information Office.
