“Are we going to get another apology for the additional inconvenience notice this weekend?” –Concerned Parent
Guam – Following the fourth cancellation of school, Guahan Academy Charter School announced that they will be holding a PTO meeting tonight at their elementary school cafeteria.
However, the recent delay has some stakeholders furious.
In a social media post, GACS wrote, “The private vendor that’s installing the required system has not completed the work. Resumption of classes is moved back to Monday, September 18.”
The post drew intense criticism from concerned parents.
One individual wrote: “I think the board should all be replaced. Another delay to the opening is totally unacceptable and my patience has run out. This delay is setting back the students again. And this finger pointing is totally BS!”
Another individual wrote: “Is this a definite date? Or are we going to get another apology for the additional inconvenience notice this weekend?”
Both GFD and the Department of Public Works still need to approve an occupancy permit before the school can re-open.
In the meantime, GACS is encouraging parents and stakeholders to attend their PTO meeting tonight to voice any and all concerns.
