Guam Animals In Need is seeking island residents to adopt and foster dogs and cats.

GAIN is having an Easter special for animal adoption fees for the whole month of April.

Adoption fees usually cost $125 but for all month long, fees have been reduced to only $100.

In addition, free goodies will be a part of this deal for your furry friends while supplies last.

This special package will wind down on Friday, April 30, 2021.

GAIN is looking for individuals to take care of adult dogs and cats in their own homes.

Alison Hadley, the executive director of GAIN, says that the shelter is very much looking for foster families to take in adult dogs mostly.

She said recruiting residents to foster the adult dogs and cats will help address the capacity issues.

The shelter is facing capacity issues because of the stray animal round-up program and the island community as a whole.

Hadley states that any individuals interested in becoming a foster volunteer can contact GAIN’s foster coordinator via email at

She expressed that GAIN’s biggest need is to have people help with fostering.
There are about 90 individuals fostering pets on the island.

Most of the fosters are taking care of dogs, about 75% of the foster volunteers, according to Hadley.

If you would like to participate in the foster program, adopt, or make a donation, you can check out the nonprofit’s website at and check out their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram.
