Since 2006, the GCA Trades Academy has reached over 3,500 students and been housed on Nimitz Hill.
After 13 years, the Trades Academy is finally getting a space to call its own.
“For the first time the Trades Academy now owns real estate,” said GCA Trades Academy Education Director Bert Johnson.
And now, Johnson said the task at hand is to add to the Trades Academy’s newly acquired lot, a project that Johnson says should be completed sometime next year.
“We gotta get the renovations done,” Johnson said.
Included in those renovation plans is the addition of six new classrooms spanning two floors and an administration office in one building with four new classrooms in the other.
A full revamp of the parking lot and driveway of the lot opening it up to through traffic is also in the plans.
