GCC Culinary Students Show Japanese Students How to Fiesta

From red rice, to kelaguen, to shrimp patties. Yum!

Guam – The Guam Community College Culinary Arts students became teachers this week as they showed visiting 32 students from Japan how to cook traditional Chamorro dishes. 

TBC Chef Minoru Okamoto says they worked with Holiday Tours Micronesia to visit GCC and gain some international cuisine experience. And GCC chefs didn’t disappoint!
 
GCC Chefs Paul Kerner and Bertrand Haurillon and their culinary students put together a Chamorro-style menu that included red rice, barbecue chicken and short ribs, shrimp kelaguen, shrimp patties, latiya, coconut candy and papaya bread pudding.
