GCC names Rodalyn Gerardo new VP of Finance & Administration

Guam Community College announced Rodalyn Gerardo, CIA, CGFM, CPA, CGAP, CGMA, CICA, as the incoming Vice President for Finance and Administration. In her new position, Gerardo oversees GCC’s non-academic operations, including the Business Office, Environmental Health & Safety, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Materials Management (Procurement) and Management Information Systems (MIS).

Gerardo comes to GCC from her previous position as the Chief Auditor for the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority (GMHA). Immediately prior to her work at GMHA, Gerardo served as the Special Assistant for the Office of Public Accountability (OPA), managing the Audit and Administrative staff. Gerardo also served as the Chief Auditor for the OPA, from March 2009 through January 2015, when she was promoted to Special Assistant to the Public Auditor and overseeing the operations of the OPA.

“I am excited to be part of Guam Community College, and to bring my experience and talents to continue the unmatched fiscal and financial achievements made by the GCC team,” said Gerardo. “Our focus is to ensure GCC continues to offer the highest quality education and training, and our job is to expand our offerings, even in these challenging times for our community.”

Guam Community College is the only government of Guam agency to achieve 19 consecutive years of unqualified (clean) audits. Gerardo’s years of experience in auditing will help GCC maintain its strong fiscal position even during these uncertain times.

VP Gerardo holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Mississippi College. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Guam, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Guam Chapter, the Guam Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Institute of Internal Controls. She also holds the following professional certifications: Certified Internal Control Auditor (CICA), Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
