Guam – High school students interested in pursuing a career in the medical or health profession can explore this profession for FREE at the Area Health Education Center’s (AHEC) 2014 Summer Academy at the Guam Community College from July 22 – August 1.
Students will learn about careers in the medical and health field, AND build their math, science and English skills. Space is limited to 40 students and the program is FREE (thanks to funding provided by AHEC) and on a first come, first served basis. Submit completed applications to the Area Health Education Center (AHEC) on the first floor of the Student Center at GCC (inside the Health Center office). The application can be downloaded from the GCC web site at www.guamcc.edu, under “Events.”
The federally-funded Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program enhances access to high quality, culturally competent health care through academic-community partnerships to ultimately improve the distribution, diversity, and supply of the primary care health professions workforce who serve in rural and underserved health care delivery sites, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services website.
