Enjoy FestPac while earning college credits.
Guam – If you want to participate more actively in the Festival of the Pacific Arts and earn college credits at the same time, the Guam Community College will be offering summer courses that will allow students to have a more hands-on experience of FestPac.
According to a release from GCC, students who enroll in the session which will be held from May 18 to June 7 will earn three credit hours for each course taken. The four GCC courses being offered during this special FESTPAC session are: Pacific Cultures; Interpersonal Relations; Introduction to Community Services; and Social Values & Criminal Justice Process. The prerequisite for any of these courses is that the person enrolling must be a current GCC student. GCC Criminal Justice & Social Science Department Chair Peter Roberto says the faculty views FestPac as a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to fulfill student learning outcomes beyond the classroom through direct exposure and service learning participation. Roberto says the classes have been scheduled for three-hour blocks Monday through Friday, to fulfill the accreditation 45 contact hour requirement.
