GCC officially launches first bachelor’s degree program

Guam Community College this afternoon announced the launch of its first educational program that will allow students to earn a bachelor’s degree.

GCC will be offering a four-year Bachelor of Science in Career Technical Education.

According to GCC, there has already been strong interest in the program which gets underway in September of this year and 25 students have already enrolled.

Education Department Chair Dr. Marsha Postrozny helped design the program and said this was a logical step for GCC to take.

“We already have so many career pathways from the secondary to post-secondary, we have industry certification so we’re taking it a step higher,” Postrozny said.

The bachelor degree program at GCC was approved this month by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.

The program is open to candidates with an Associate Degree as well as to new high school graduates.
