Guam – GCC celebrated the opening ceremony in the GCC Foundation Building during the 14th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attacks against the United States.
The room is furnished with tables, chairs and bookshelves donated to the Veterans Club by M80 Office Systems.
Veterans Club President Rodney Cruz Junior says the new Veterans study lounge will help them gain confidence, learn skills and become leaders.
Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel David Okada, who is also the husband of GCC President Dr. Mary Okada, was the guest speaker for the event. He says, “As we unveil and dedicate this study room and lounge, I ask that you all remember to do three things: one, thank our veterans who has served or continue to serve our country defending our freedom against the global war on terrorism among many other missions, thank our future leaders for thinking about serving or making a positive difference in your own way, and three thank yourselves for continuing to remember and appreciating the sacrifices made for this freedom because freedom is not free.”
