GDOE Announces Later Start Times for High Schools

Guam – The Guam Department of Education announced a new bell schedule for the upcoming school year.

 

According to a release from GDOE, the two main changes are adjusting a later start time for high schools and adding 13 minutes to the elementary school day. The new bell schedule provides a necessary gap between elementary, middle and high school start and end times while controlling for the the logistical needs of DPW bus operations. The first day of classes for students starts on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

HIGH SCHOOLS (JFK, THS, & SHS): 7:00A.M. TO 2:00P.M.
 
HIGH SCHOOLS (GWHS, OHS, & SSHS): 7:45A.M. TO 2:45P.M.
 
MIDDLE SCHOOLS: 8:30A.M. TO 3:30P.M.
 
ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS: 8:15A.M. TO 2:28P.M.
