As part of the GDOE’s goal to broaden the access to technology for all students, several GDOE schools have been designated as Community Learning Centers.  These CLCs will provide students afterschool accommodations to support distance learning by offering students access to site facilities and equipment, homework assistance, as well as training and access to the internet for educational purposes.

Below is the June schedule of parent-community training sessions hosted by the CLC site managers.  We highly encourage all interested persons to avail themselves of the free training.

Day Date Topic and Description:
Monday June 14 Safely Navigating the Internet / Internet Safety:  Participants will learn how to navigate through networks of information resources on the World Wide Web.  They will also learn Internet safety and digital citizenship.
Tuesday June 15 Literacy Strategies: Participants will learn a variety of strategies to develop comprehension skills and reading abilities.
Monday June 21 Online Learning:  Participants will learn and participate in distance learning education and learn strategies to help their children utilize online learning and not in a traditional classroom.
