The Grant Award is a FY ‘15 Consolidated Grant to the Outlying Areas from the US-Ed.

Guam – The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) Federal Programs Division, which serves as the State Agency, is pleased to announce the award of approximately $25 million from the US Department of Education (US-Ed). The Grant Award is a FY ‘15 Consolidated Grant to the Outlying Areas from the US-Ed.

As required by the granting agency, GDOE will provide a Technical Assistance Workshop to all key stakeholders of the award inclusive of the approved program activities.  The Workshop will be held on:

Grant funds have been awarded to ten (10) programs benefiting Guam students including 41 public (about 31,000 public school students) and private (6,000 PNP student) schools, and the Guahan Academy Charter School. The purpose of the grant is to support supplemental activities for promoting teaching, learning, safe schools, supporting students who are at-risk academically, increasing graduation rates, and preparing students for college and career upon graduation.Over 200 public and private school administrators including partners from the Guam Community College, University of Guam, and the Judiciary of Guam will participate in the Workshop.  The Technical Assistance Workshop is crucial to ensure recipients are knowledgeable of the information necessary to efficiently carry out the FY’15 Consolidated Grant activities, procedures and requirements, as well as to ensure for an effective program planning and successful implementation.
