GDOE ‘Grab-N-Go’ school meal program to launch Monday

The Guam Department of Education is launching its school meals program this coming Monday.

It’s official! The Guam Department of Education will be launching its “Grab-N-Go” school meal distribution program this Monday!

Following the approval of a waiver from the USDA, all children under 18 years old can get one lunch at one of 11 designated schools, according to a release from the Joint Information Center.

Parents and guardians will be able to pick up lunch for their children beginning March 23rd from 11 am to 1 pm on weekdays except on holidays and during spring break. Spring break will be from April 6th to the 10th.

The program will be a drive-thru operation and meals will be delivered on a first-come, first-served basis.

The schools where the meals will be distributed include: Astumbo and Wettengel Elementary, and F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School for Northern residents. Agana Heights and B.P Carbullido Elementary, Jose Rios Middle School, and the George Washington and John F. Kennedy High Schools for central residents.

Southern residents will be able to pick up at the Inarajan and M.U. Lujan Elementary Schools as well as Southern High School.
