The Guam Department of Education (GDOE), in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and Social Services, will be hosting a town hall meeting for GDOE employees regarding COVID-19 testing and vaccination this week Thursday.
The town hall will feature a presentation by Dr. Felix Cabrera and Dr. Luis Cruz from the Physicians Advisory Group (PAG). The purpose of the presentation will be to answer questions and provide GDOE employees with information regarding COVID-19 testing and vaccination opportunities.
GDOE COVID-19 Testing
GDOE is offering free testing for all employees this week at the Northern Region Health Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Testing each day this week is designated for GDOE employees from each of the four regions, and GDOE employees must present an identification card or verification letter from their place of employment to avail of the free testing. Results will be reported on the same day.
GDOE COVID-19 Vaccination
GDOE is also in the process of gathering information relative to the number of employees interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. GDOE employees may be prioritized to receive the vaccine based on the following five categories:
= 60 years old and above
= 59 years old to 50 years old
= 49 years old to 40 years old
= 39 years old to 19 years old
= Employees with the following comorbidities: Diabetes and high blood pressure.
GDOE COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Town Hall
The town hall meeting for GDOE employees regarding COVID-19 testing and vaccination will take place this Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. via Zoom. Only the first 500 participants will be able to attend via Zoom. All others may watch and participate in the meeting via the GDOE Facebook page where the presentation will be recorded and streamed live.
More information about vaccination opportunities for GDOE employees will be announced at a later time. GDOE employees interested in vaccination opportunities should report their interest to their direct supervisors by noon on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
