GDOL to receive second allotment of $185 million for unemployment relief


The Guam Department of Labor on Saturday, Aug. 8, received word from the U.S.
Department of Labor on the request for its next allotment of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.

The U.S. Department of Labor is moving forward with the second allotment in the amount of $185 million. The Guam Department of Labor expects the money to be processed and posted to the payment management system shortly.

Currently, $60 million is at the Department of Administration for cleared claims through July 8.

The unemployment benefits were being processed to go out Aug. 10.

The department is also working on the next batch of payments from the new allotment.

The Department will announce more information as soon as it becomes available.

For applicants still needing assistance, the public libraries in Dededo, Yona, and Agat are open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Yona and Agat also welcome walk-in customers. All three libraries can help input new claims as well as fix outstanding issues with existing claims.
