Guam – The Guam Election Commission (GEC) would like to remind voters that today [Friday] September 3, is the last day for Early (In-Office) Voting between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the GEC Office located in the GCIC Bldg. All voters wishing to participate in this process are asked to bring a Photo I.D.
As a result of the high voter registration during the last few days of the District Voter Registration Program, coupled with the high voter turnout for the Early (In-Office) voting, the GEC was not able to enter all Affidavits of Registration into the Voter Registration Listing in time to meet the
printing deadline. As a result, there will be some instances whereby a voter’s name will not appear on the Voter Signature Roster at his or her precinct. Therefore, in an effort to assure these voters that they will be allowed to vote, the GEC will provide a supplemental list (of those registrants not listed) to the Precinct Officials to refer to should a voters name not be on the Voter Signature Roster. This verification process may cause some delay however, the registered voter will be allowed to vote.
Therefore, for those new voters who will be voting for the first time in this upcoming Primary, the GEC would like to recommend that in addition to a photo ID, these individuals bring the “yellow’ copy of their Affidavit of Registration to their Precincts.
In an effort to ensure that the Ballot Tabulators are in good working condition, the GEC will be conducting a Test Election 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at the UOG Field House. The GEC extends an invitation to the three (3) Gubernatorial Teams and/or their representatives, representatives
from both political parties, members of the general public and the media to observe this process.
Once again for the Primary Election, the GEC would like to remind all voters to:
*VOTE FOR ONE (1) PARTY ONLY. IF YOU VOTE FOR MORE THAN ONE (1) PARTY FOR ALL OFFICES APPEARING ON EITHER SIDE OF THE BALLOT OR CROSS OVER, THE ENTIRE BALLOT SHALL BE VOID.
