The first day to file candidate packets for the primary election is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Guam Election Commission announced in a news release.
Packets will be accepted in Suite A11 in the GCIC Arcade (ground floor) in Hagåtña.
The Guam primaries are set for Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020. The elections this year are for the mayor, vice-mayor, senator, Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives, and public auditor positions.
GEC asks candidates to stay home if you are sick or are not feeling well. Social distancing will be enforced and all individuals must wear face masks that adhere to CDC guidelines.
The filing process is limited to the candidate and his or her treasurer (or deputy treasurer). Candidates will be serviced individually on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be patient and anticipate processing delays.
GEC notaries will be available during the filing process. If you require GEC notary services, please be sure to bring a government-issued photo ID.
Please refer to the Candidate Filing Checklist included in the candidate packet to ensure the packet is complete prior to coming to file. Please ensure that the number of signatures collected on nominating petitions meets the minimum number required for the office sought. Incomplete packets will not be accepted.
