GFD Gets $100K In New Fire Fighting & Rescue Equipment

Guam – The Guam Fire Department officially took possession of some long awaited new equipment this morning [Wednesday] at the Tamuning Fire Station.

The new equipment includes rescue and fire fighting equipment like axes, sledge-hammers and multi-purpose tools. The equipment is valued at $100-thousand dollars. It is meant for the fire trucks and 1st responder units was purchased with both federal and local funds.

In a statement, Guam Fire Department Spokesman Joey San Nicolas said the new equipment purchase is “in line with our continuous efforts in providing our responders with the necessary equipment to serve and save.”
