Rescue personnel were dispatched to Pagat Caves, Mangilao for a reported lost hiker at 12:37 pm Sunday afternoon, according to Guam Fire Department spokesman Kevin Reilly.
Upon arrival of the GFD units, the hiker called dispatch from a nearby store informing GFD that he had made it to safety. He also reported that there were three other hikers, not affiliated, who were also lost.
At 4:33 pm, rescue personnel conducted a search of the last known position of the hikers and were able to reach the three (all males in their early 30s).
HSC-25 was called to assist in transport due to patients experiencing cramping and dehydration. The crew consisted of two pilots, a crew chief, a rescue swimmer and a Hospital Corpsman.
By 7:09 pm, the HSC-25 helicopter had hoisted all three patients and they were en route to Naval Hospital Guam.
