Guam – The Guam Fire Department cut the ribbon on the new Agat Fire Station this morning [Wednesday].
The new station is located off Erskin Drive in Agat by the old Agat Teacher’s Staff Housing.
The 7-thousand square foot facility has 3-bays for fire units and the total cost to build it was about $1.2 million dollars. The funds came from the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority from money provided by U.S. HUD.
The new station will serve both the residents of both Agat and Santa Rita.
Among those attending the dedication ceremony were Governor Camacho, Speaker Won Pat, GHURA Executive Director Ray Blas, GFD Fire Chief Dave Peredo and other island dignitaries.
