Guam Fire Department units are responding to a fire at a recycling center near the old flea market in Harmon.
GFD reports heavy smoke caused by a shipping container, tires, trash, and debris.
Residents downwind are not being evacuated. However, GFD is advising residents to remain indoors, close windows and doors, and leave the area if they are experiencing any respiratory problems related to the smoke.
As of 6:35 p.m., GFD issued another release saying units from Dededo, Tamuning, and Barrigada fire stations are still at the scene. The fire is contained; however, units continue to fully extinguish the blaze, according to GFD spokesperson Kevin Reilly.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, according to GFD. There are no injuries reported at this time.
