GHURA Gets $3.9M in Federal Funds for 2014 Low to Moderate Income Housing Support Program


Sinajaña, Guam – (January 22) – The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) announces the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Community Planning and Development (CPD) programs for Program Year 2014.

An estimated $3.9 million of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be awarded to meet the needs outlined in the Guam’s Consolidated Plan for 2010-2014.

Funding is allocated by HUD for three separate programs as follows: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for $3,012,933.00; HOME Investment Partnership Grant (HOME) for $746,906.00; and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) for $194,003.00.

Funds for CPD programs will benefit low- or moderate-income families and individuals, with projects ranging from community development and revitalization to homeownership assistance and homelessness.

Interested applicants are encouraged to attend a briefing presentation, to be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the GHURA CPD Office, 414 West Soledad Avenue, GCIC Building, Suite 306 in Hagatna.

Applications for project funding are available on GHURA’s website at or may be picked at GHURA CPD Office in Hagatna. All completed applications must be hand-delivered to the GHURA CPD Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014.
