Guam – The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority [GHURA] has issued a statement saying that they have received 55% of their monthly allocation from The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development [HUD]. GHURA says that means that they have enough money needed to cover monthly payments to both landlords and tenants who participate in its Housing Assistance Payment [HAP] program.

GHURA Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
Sinajana, GU (October 1, 2013) – Shortly after 11 AM Tuesday morning the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) received $1.4 million or 55% of its allocation of Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) needed to cover monthly payments to landlords and participating families.
[Rent payments to landlords and utility reimbursement payments to participating families total $2.6M for October]. Using $1.2M from GHURA’s current reserves, we are able to disburse payments to all participating tenants and landlords today. Tenants and Landlords can expect funds in their bank accounts as scheduled.
The remaining HAP funds for October 2013 will be available to GHURA no later than October 10, 2013 and will be used to replenish its reserve funds.
