Guam – The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) provides the following data for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) and Public Housing units.
Sinajaña, GU (January 30, 2013) – In 2001, GHURA launched the Homeowner Rehabilitation Loan Program, funded by HOME Investment Partnership Grant under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Since its inception 12 years ago, GHURA has assisted 133 families to rehabilitate their homes, totaling over $4.4 million of loan funds. GHURA continues to seek applicants for this ongoing program. The Homeowner Rehabilitation Loan Program provides deferred and zero interest loans of up to $60,000.00. Through this program, low-income homeowners have the opportunity to upgrade the conditions of their owner-occupied primary residence.
Homes are renovated to meet local building code standards and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, if applicable. Under this program, low-income homeowners are defined as those with gross income at or below 80% of the area median income for Guam, as established by HUD. Other eligibility requirements apply.
