Guam – The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) closed the grant application for its Community Planning and Development (CPD) programs on Friday, March 8th, 2013.
An estimated $4.4 million of CPD funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be awarded for the Program Year 2013, which begins October 01, 2013, for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnership Grant (HOME), and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
CDBG funds will benefit low- and moderate-income persons for the provisions of neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, economic opportunities, and community improvements. HOME funds will be used for the support of homebuyer and homeowner activities. ESG funds are used to assist homeless populations with street outreach, homeless prevention, and rapid re-housing assistance.
