The Guam Memorial Hospital has suspended the viewing of deceased loved ones effective immediately.
This action was taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as part of Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero’s social distancing directive.
It is also in line with efforts to prevent further spread of the virus.
GMH said they are very sympathetic to family members who wish to see their loved ones. GMH will work to coordinate transfer of the deceased to funeral homes as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, mortuaries all over the island are also implementing their own measures to ensure funeral services are in compliance with the Governor’s directive, including establishing guidelines that limit funeral attendance to immediate family members only.
