GMH Water Bill Due; Faces Disconnection if Not Paid

The deadline to pay is 5 pm Friday. GMH owes GWA $136,000.

Guam – The Guam Memorial Hospital could face another disconnection with their water if they fail to make a payment to the Guam Waterworks Authority by tomorrow.

GWA Spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf says the hospital is due for a payment of about $136,000 that must be paid in full by 5 pm Friday. Ballendorf warns that if it’s not paid in full GWA will cut off the hospital’s water early Monday morning.

This payment is part of a payment plan GMH and GWA entered into after the hospital was threatened last month with disconnection because of a delinquent account of about half a million dollars.

GMH also entered into an agreement with the Guam Power Authority, also due to a past due balance of about half a million.

The hospital’s power bill is due next Thursday.

GMH Spokesperson June Perez said in a statement “We’re on a payment agreement with the utilities and GMH has every intention of making those payment deadlines.”
