The 31st Annual Guam Micronesia Island Fair (GMIF 2019) wrapped up this weekend. Delegates and artisans from Rota; Federated States of Micronesia – Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae and Yap; The Marshall Islands; and Palau participated in the 5-day event.
GMIF highlighted the island’s diverse cultural history and longstanding traditions.
From free Carabao rides and canoe carving, sling stone throwing demonstrations and dance, add delicious delicacies and intricate art – hundreds of residents and visitors alike, enjoyed the festivities in the heart of Hagåtña.
For those who missed GMIF, the 75th Liberation Festivities is just around the corner. It will be held on the grounds near the Paseo Stadium at the Chamorro Village and across the Guam Museum. The opening ceremony is on Thursday, June 6, at 6 p.m.
