The Republican Party of Guam is mourning the passing of Cecilia Aguon Perez, fondly known as Chilang, a GOP village leader who died of a heart attack during the pro-life rally held in Adelup Friday afternoon.

According to the GOP, Perez was a staunch supporter and leader of the Republican village organization from the village of Sinajaña.

“We are in tremendous grief over the loss of Mrs. Chilang Perez, a spirited and faith-filled woman who gave much to the island in service and self; she will be so greatly missed. We extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to her family,” Republican State Party Chairman Jerry Crisostomo said in a statement.

Mrs. Perez was also the president of the St. Jude Parish Confraternity of Christian Mothers in Sinajaña.
