Gov. Calvo Deports Second Compact Migrant

Wia’s name has been sent to relevant local agencies, federal stakeholders and airlines as a person not allowed to return to Guam.

Guam – Governor Calvo has deported a second compact migrant.

 

According to a release from Adelup, Calvo has sent John John Wia, a convicted armed robber, to Chuuk. According to Adelup, Wia agreed to the permanent departure prompting Governor Calvo to commute his sentence. During his time in prison, Adelup says Wia did not take advantage of educational programs and has not demonstrated the ability to support himself in Guam upon his Release.
