Gov Signs Bill That Holds Parents Responsible For Kids Actions

The Governor signed numerous bills including bill 231 the unborn victims of violence act which would punish anyone who assaults a pregnant woman resulting in injury or death to the unborn child.

Guam – Governor Eddie Calvo has signed a number of bills into law including Bill 149 that would hold parents responsible for any willful acts by their children that result in the injury or death of another person or even damage to property.

 

 The Governor signed bill 218 which requires that the municipal planning councils of southern villages be included in the review and approval of proposed commercial developments. He signed bill 223 which appropriates money from the invasive species fees to fund the operations of the bio-security division of the Department of Agriculture. He signed bill 231 the unborn victims of violence act which would punish anyone who assaults a pregnant woman resulting in injury or death to the unborn child. He signed bill 236 which would allow resident aliens to own firearms. The Governor also signed bill 248 which increases paid maternity leave to 30 business days for eligible GovGuam employees.
