“Today, we honor their legacies that they left behind,” – Governor Eddie Calvo.
Guam – Hundreds of island residents flocked to the cemeteries today to commemorate the faithful departed.
For All Soul’s Day, residents adorned the graves of loved ones as a reminder of those gone, but not forgotten.
A special mass was held at various cemetery sites all throughout the afternoon and Governor Calvo delivered a special address in light of the holiday.
“Today, we honor their legacies that they left behind…Our grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, siblings and even children. We mourn their passing, but more importantly celebrate their lives and the dreams that they had for us and our island home. Let us always keep them close to our hearts for we know we will always be in theirs,” the governor said.
