Governor Calvo Vetoes 5 Bills

Guam – Governor Calvo has vetoed 5 bills, in addition to the 26 bills that he signed into law the day before Thanksgiving.

                                    VETOED BILLS:

1. * Senator Rory Respicio’s Bill No. 94-32 (COR), the “Prompt Payment Act”

2. * Another Respicio measure, Bill No. 200-32 (COR), the “Police Clearance Clarity Act of 2013” which would have limited the allowable use of prior arrest records.

3. * Senator Mike San Nicolas’ Bill No. 116-32 (COR) which would have established  an “operational continuity plans for each agency of the Government of Guam.”

4. * Another San Nicolas measure,  Bill No. 194-32 (COR) which would have established the Guam Intrastate Securities Exchange.

5. * Senator Rodriguez’s  Bill No. 205-32 (COR) a measure that sought to “promote economic development by …  providing shipping companies a tax credit in exchange for carrying Guam grown and manufactured agricultural products for export.”  

The veto messages have not yet been posted on the Legislature’s webiste and the Governor’s Office has not yet responded to a request for compies of the veto messages.
