Governor extends public health emergency

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero has extended the public health emergency on Guam.

The governor on Thursday signed Order No. 2021-09 which extends the public health emergency until May 31, 2021.

Although the public health emergency has been extended, the governor stated that Guam will continue to be under PCOR-3, during which most activities are permitted to operate under moderate restrictions.

In her executive order, the governor stated that it is important to recognize that the public health emergency has not yet ended and “may continue for some time.”

“It is important that we continue to be mindful of the reality that the COVID-19 pandemic remains a threat to our safety as a community and that we all must exercise personal judgment, and take steps as individuals towards protecting ourselves and our loved ones against this disease, including getting vaccinated,” the governor stated.
