Governor Lou Leon Guerrero has been appointed to the National Governors Association (NGA) Task Force on Economic Recovery and Revitalization.
The task force will focus on issues related to energy, environment, infrastructure, land management, state stabilization, and taxes.
In a statement about the NGA appointment, Adelup released the following statement:
“To truly overcome the economic devastation caused by COVID-19, a recovery plan must meaningfully address some of Guam’s long-standing issues related to infrastructure, the environment, and economic stabilization. This is why Governor Leon Guerrero established the Economic Diversification Working Group, a public-private partnership with the Guam Chamber of Commerce, to develop plans to expand Guam’s economy. As a member of this task force, Governor Leon Guerrero will work with fellow governors to ensure state and territorial parity, work on initiatives to expand local industries and business development, and continue to push for policies that benefit the People of Guam. Furthermore, this appointment reflects Guam’s presence, inclusion, and participation on the national stage.”
NGA has also created task forces on Community Renewal and Pandemic and Disaster Response to coordinate bipartisan state and territorial efforts to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and lead economic recovery and renewal efforts.
